Is there a Street Light out in Sugar Creek?

If you notice a street light in Sugar Creek that is not working, please call Duke Power--It is simple!  Just call 1-800-777-9898 to report a street light.  Often when reporting a light that is out you might be asked to tie a white plastic grocery bag on the pole where the light is out so they can spot which light is out during the day when they come out to do the repair or to replace the bulb.

Help us keep those lights on for everyone's safety!

Any homeowner can report a light out to Duke Power.

Sugar Creek Common Property

Please do not dump crass clippings or any branches or debris

on any area of Sugar Creek Common Property.  Please make

arrangements with a private trash hauler to take your yard debris

to the Enoree dump.  Please don't burn it as many homeowners

have lung problems that are bothered by smoke or they just

hate the odor it gives the community.

Sugar Creek Snakes

A neighbor called to report a couple of recent experiences with this

type of snake here in Sugar Creek--be on the alert!

The eastern diamondback rattlesnake is the largest venomous snake in North America. Some reach 8 feet (2.4 meters) in length and weigh up to 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms).

These stout-bodied pit vipers generally live in the dry, pine flatwoods, sandy woodlands, and coastal scrub habitats from southern North Carolina to Florida and west to Louisiana. Their pattern of yellow-bordered, light-centered black diamonds makes them among the most strikingly adorned of all North American reptiles. They are natural exterminators, surviving on such household pests as rats and mice, as well as squirrels and birds.

Feared as deadly and aggressive, diamondbacks are actually highly averse to human contact and only attack in defense. Most bites occur when humans taunt or try to capture or kill a rattlesnake. They can accurately strike at up to one-third their body length.

Anyone interesting in Bunco?

It’s an easy dice game—if you can roll the dice and talk at the same time, you’re good to go (you might have to stop and count once in a while)!

You need 12 or so players and you rotate monthly in homes—you can keep it simple or bring snacks and drinks!

That’s all there is to it—a great way to have a night out with the girls without having to get dressed up!

Several ladies in Sugar Creek would love to start a new group, and if you’d like to be included, just email me to have your name added to the list.  Once we hit 12 folks, we can start a group!
